Travel

I LOVE to travel.

Growing up our travel experience was limited to Pennsylvania and visiting family in Virginia and Florida.

I honestly didn’t know how big the world was. I was not properly educated on other countries and travel. I didn’t know what it was like to experience other cultures and sights and sizes. And while I didn’t know what was out there, I also didn’t know what I was missing. I was content on my summer vacations to the lakes or my uncle’s farm. Trips to Disney-seeing family and also to the Jersey Shore.

Then I met my husband. We have traveled to 9 countries together. The first three trips were Caribbean vacations. Relaxing beaches and all inclusive deals! Drinks delivered to my beach or pool side chair. Dreamy and fantastic. Then we decided on a 3 week honeymoon to Europe. And I officially caught the travel bug. I was a little nervous about traveling for so many weeks. Traveling to different countries with various methods of transportation. Not knowing the languages. But within days I was used to the subway in Paris and I was leading the way. I can still get somewhere in Paris faster than NYC, and I have lived next to NYC for 34 years!

Those three weeks in Europe made me realize that there is SO much world that I haven’t seen. It also made me realize that I probably would have paid more attention in school if I had traveled abroad. I’m a see-it and learn-it person. If I had studied something I could have seen with my own eyes and remembered myself, whoa, that would have been a game changer. That moment made me realize that I wanted my children to experience traveling as much as Anthony and I could allow.

Little Anthony’s first trip was to San Diego, California. He was 3.5 months old when we visited my best friend! Anthony was amazing on the flight and I’m so happy we started him out young! After that, he traveled to Texas and Italy before his little brother was born. Once Patrick turned 3.5 months old, we traveled to Texas again (to see family). When Anthony was 27 months and Patrick just 9.5, we took both boys to France. We rode tripped from Paris to Lyon.

Since then we been to Disney World and back to Texas.

Before the pandemic, we had plans to go to Ireland and we wanted to go back to California and Texas.

We will travel again, when it is allowed and we all feel comfortable! We owe my Mom that trip to Ireland! (Love you MOM!)
