Growing up we spent the summers in Pennsylvania and visited relatives in Virginia. We would go to Florida and visit family in the Orlando area and of course, hit up Disney World while we were there. And I kind of remember a “camping” trip to Vermont when I was around 11 or 12. When I was 20 my mom, sister, my friend and I went on a cruise to Cozumel and Key West and I remember being mesmerized by the clear blue waters and palm trees. In 2006, when I was 21, I was asked to travel to China & Korea to perform for the USA Men’s basketball team. I had to get my FIRST ever passport. It needed to be expedited, and the company made sure we had our Visas. That trip sealed the deal. The smells, the culture, the colors, the people, the temples, the lights… ugh- it was all amazing. Plus, we flew direct from Newark, NJ -over the North Pole- to China! WHO DOES THAT – Santa? In 2007 I went to Cancun on Spring Break with 3 other girlfriends. And I firmly believe that every college student should experience a spring break at least once in their life. And after college, I traveled to the Dominican Republic.
Once I met my husband, he wowed me with his worldly travels. Throughout the US on his baseball stadium tour. He had traveled to New Orleans after Katrina – with his architecture program at school. He also studied abroad in Italy, and while he was there, traveled throughout nearby European cities and London.
Since we met, we have traveled to: Mexico, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, France (Paris, Lyon, Nice) London, Barcelona, Greece (Athens, Mykonos) Italy (Capri, Rome, Florence/Tuscany, Cinque Terre, Gioi, Venice) Switzerland (Geneva).
Our next trip will be to Ireland. We gifted my mother a trip for her 60th birthday and as soon as everyone’s schedules get on the same page, we will be going! Attendees would be: me, hubs, Anthony and Patrick. My mom (Mimi) and my sister, Aunt Jenn Jenn.
I would LOVE to take a hubby/wife only trip next summer! Maybe Sardinia? That seems lovely.
I’m currently working on my dream vacation list. I will post it when it’s finished, …if that’s possible
Thanks for stopping by and reading my thoughts!
